If you get the chance to take the MCE (Marketo Certified Expert) exam, but have not spent any, or very little time in the platform – do not let it scare or stop you. During last week’s Marketo bootcamp at Avaus campus in Gdansk, Poland I was given this challenge on my first week at Avaus.
I passed the certification (together with 13 of my colleagues!!), so I thought I might share a few tips and tricks on how to pass the certification exam even though I had no experience from before. Here we go:
- Teamwork. Make sure you are surrounded with great people that will help and inspire you. I wouldn’t have passed the test without my lovely colleagues from all three offices. They were all so supportive and cheerful!
- Learn from the best. I have a lot to thank our wonderful teacher Tania from Marketo who walked us through the Boot Camp making sure we would be prepared for the test. There were lots of “Aha moments” during the test when I remembered things she had pointed out. I would never have passed the test without her guidance.
- Practice, Practice, Practice. Take the Practice Exam test, over and over again. I think I took the test 7-8 times all in all during the week.
For more advice, and if you aren’t lucky enough to have Tania there to teach you – check Marketo’s own University and all the brilliant teaching materials there. Off you go – towards your career as a marketing rockstar!
